Seminar on Career in MNCs

Nowadays when students think about working in MNCs, several queries come to their mind such as “What are the skills and competencies that I need to have that would make an MNC hire me?” “How can I prepare myself for a successful interview?” To answer mind boggling questions like these, The School of Business of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has organized a “Seminar on Career in MNCs” on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at IUB School of Business Lecture Gallery - 3002. The workshop was organized specially to answer the typical questions that students have regarding career in MNCs and also to enlighten them more about the job market.

Mr, Jawaad bin Hamid, Quality Learning Sourcing Executive, Talent Team, British American Tobacco, was the key note speaker of this seminar. He answered the following questions; “What are the skills and competencies that students need to have that would make an MNC hire them?” “How can students efficiently prepare themselves for a successful interview?” “What are the future prospects and benefits working in an MNC?” He has also encouraged students to keep a good balance in extracurricular as well as academics and emphasized on setting goals and achieving them. He also elaborated on the upcoming prestigious business competition Battle of Minds. His valuable advice and knowledge enlightened all the students and will be beneficial for the future.

Dr. Sarwar Uddin Ahmed, Dean, School of Business, IUB highlighted on employability, transferability and the demands of the job market. He urged all students to venture out and acquire new skills along with academics.
The session was finally wrapped up by Mr. Arifur Rahman Khan, Lecturer, School of Business, IUB thanking the honorable guest in being part of this workshop. Lastly, the seminar ended with a question and answer session.
