The Department of Economics Congratulates the champion team Mission Possible of the “2023 SDG Policy Challenge”. The team members are Khadiza Akter Tasnim, Mubashwara Mehzabeen and Tasfiah Akter Tanjel from the Department of Economics, SBE, IUB and Yazdi Zaman from the Department of Global Studies & Governance, SLASS, IUB.

The 2023 SDG Policy Challenge was organized by the Global Gatekeepers and brought together eminent visionaries and policymakers committed to shaping a sustainable future. This policy competition was funded by the “Youth Innovation Fund” from the Embassy of Sweden Dhaka, Bangladesh, facilitated through the collaborations of the International Centre for Climate Change & Development (ICCCAD) and the Centre for Bay of Bengal Studies (CBoBs). The competition featured discerning presentations from the top five finalist teams, meticulously shortlisted from 910 participating teams from various universities in Bangladesh. Team Mission Possible took the stage with their policy entitled “A Transformative Approach to Biomass Utilization: A Case Study of Phultala Upazila in Khulna District.” Noteworthy for its comprehensive and implementable nature, the team’s exceptional policy played an instrumental role in securing the coveted championship position.
