A seminar was held at the IUB campus where Mr. Asher Ahmed Chowdhury, Head of Internal Control & Risk Management at Banglalink, discussed some vital points to the students about corporate risk management techniques in presence of Dean of School of Business, Professor Aminul Karim, Head of Department of Finance, Dr. Samiul Parvez, Mohammad Fahad Noor, Lecturer and Anwar Zahid, Lecturer Department of Finance.
In the aforementioned topic Mr. Asher mainly highlighted how the commercial world deals with major risks. He further discussed that a company having several risks, does not immigrate all of them but some – the major ones, which can bring a significant negative impact on its brand image and its financial sector.
He concludes his speech by analyzing the process of mitigating corporate risk with realistic examples.
As a part of learning, he made an attempt to enrich students’ knowledge by setting up a short exercise regarding the risk management of Bangladesh Cricket Team.
