Independent HR Society (IHRS) in association with the Youth School for Social Entrepreneurs (YSSE) successfully organized a seminar titled “Bangladesh Youth Symposium 2018” on 15th November, 2018. A group of successful entrepreneurs and specialists on social entrepreneurship conducted this session where the main objective of this event was to aspire students towards social entrepreneurship and innovation. The seminar also enlightened the students about Social Entrepreneurship and Self-Employment.
Mr. Jalal Ahmed, Executive Project Director at Skill Employment Investment Program (SEIP), Chairman at Nepal Bangladesh Bank was the key note speaker in this session. Ms. Bibi Russell, a well-known Entrepreneur, Fashion designer & Model; Ms. Zara Mahbub, Executive Vice President, Head of Communication & Customer Experience at BRAC Bank Limited; Mr. Jalal Ahmed, Executive Project Director, Skill Employment Investment Program (SELP), Ms. Sidsel Bleken, Norwegian Ambassador in Dhaka ; Mr. Tajdin Hasan, Head of Marketing, The Daily Star; Mr. Ghulam Sumdany Don, Chief Inspirational Officer, Don Sumdany Facilitation; Mr. Lokman Hasan Forhad, CEO Phed International; Mr. Khaled Mahfuz Saeef, Program Officer PKSF; Mr. Rezaur Rahman Robin, Chief Strategy Officer, Handymama. Prito Reaza, Director/Photographer at Prito Reza Production were the special guests in this session. They all shared their valuable insights, stories and strategies to broaden the entrepreneurship realm. The speakers at the programme also engaged with the future entrepreneurs to inspire them to work in social entrepreneurship arena. An “Elevator Pitch Challenge” was arranged to spur the audience to engage for greater participation in the event.
Dr. Milan Pagon, Pro-Vice Chancellor, IUB, Professor Aminur Rahman, Head, Department of Economics enlightened the audience with their diversified knowledge on Social entrepreneurship. The session was inaugurated by the opening remark of Dr. A. N. M. Shibly Noman Khan, Associate Professor and Head Department of HRM. Ms. Sariat Rafa Khan, Lecturer and Club Coordinator of IHRS closed the session with a vote of thanks.
