The School of Business, Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has successfully organized and conducted “Internship Workshop” for the students studying in their last semester of undergraduate education on 18th and 20th December, 2018. This internship workshop included the following topics i.e.: Self Assessment, Explore Your Organization, Resume Writing and Basic Interview Skills for the Spring Interns. Each workshop was three hour semi-formal session on employability skills intended to provide some essential guidelines on their future career and also for taking necessary preparations. Asma Banu, Internship Coordinator, School of Business, conducted the sessions and discussed the importance of the topic that should be followed at all level of professional life as well as personal life to be successful.
The closing workshop was “Mock Interview” which was held on 7th January, 2019 where 17 Human Resource personnel from distinctive organizations conducted mock interviews. Participant organizations were: ACI Limited, BRAC Bank Limited, Data Edge Limited, IFIC BANK, LankaBangla Securities Limited, Mercantile Bank Limited, Bkash, United Commercial Bank, Mutual Trust Bank, United Finance Limited, Prime Bank Limited, BD Venture Limited, Meghna Group of Industries, Brac IT Services Ltd. (BITS), Premier Bank Limited, and Beximco Textiles & Apparel Division. The Mock Interview session was for three hours. At the end of the interview, all HR professionals’ provided feedback and discussed on the issues that are related to the present job market and youth unemployment trend in order for the students to be associated with modern employment practices in learning business etiquettes
