Department of MIS, School of Business, IUB arranged a study tour for the major and minor students on 23rd March 2019 to bridge the industry and the academic gap. Registered students started their journey at 10.30am from IUB premise. The tour was lead by Dr. Rezwanul Alam, Head, Dept. of Management Information Systems and Md. Aminul Islam, Lecturer, Dept. of Management Information Systems. Mr. Md. Mostofa Zaman, Head of L&D and PR, Genex Infosis Limited greeted the team warmly. The session began with a 30 minutes’ discussion between students and management of the company. Mr. Minarul Islam, Head of HR advised students on how to articulate professional CVs. Mr. Sydul Islam who is working in BI & MIS, WFM Lead, clarified the responsibilities of MIS graduates and put emphasis on skills required to perform successfully in the job market. He added that “MIS is an eye of any successful organization ”. Then Mr. Md. Mostofa Zaman opened the floor for students’ query. After that student were divided into two groups to observe the core functions of call center operations. Genex Infosys Ltd. made their consent to sign an MOU with MIS Department, School of Business, IUB so that MIS graduates can get privilege in terms of internship and job placements in their company. Students also visited BASIS SOFTEXPO 2019 for forty minutes while returning IUB at 3.30 pm.
