With an aim to blend theoretical concepts and real life practices of world famous brands, the Independent Marketers’ Association organized a seminar titled ‘Contemporary Marketing Practices by the Best Brands’ on 23rd June 2016 at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB). Ms. Asna Farah Haque, Marketing Manager, Transcom Foods Limited was the key note speaker in this seminar. In her speech, Ms. Haque shared her working experiences in several companies, like Adcomm, Asiatic and Ogilvy & Mather, Unilever Bangladesh Limited, Pizza Hut and KFC.  She also described the factors need to be considered to create value for consumers, how they deal with market related obstacles, issues regarding franchise business practices, hygiene factors in food business, price sensitivity in various cultures, and Pizza Hut and KFC’s market challenges. Ms. Haque concluded her speech with a question answer session for the better insight of the topic and creates student mobility.
 The session was graced by Professor Dr. Sarwar Uddin Ahmed, Dean, School of Business; IUB thanked Ms. Haque for her speech and handed her over a little token of appreciation. Mr. Abul Khair Jyote, Senior Lecturer in Marketing and the coordinator of Independent Marketers’ Association delivered vote of thanks in the seminar. The seminar was conducted by Ms. Sadia Haque, Senior Lecturer in Marketing, School of Business, IUB. Mr. Sohel Islam, Ms. Zakia Binte Jamal, Mr. Fahad Noor, Mr. Maqbool Kader Quraishi, Mr. Aynul Hoque, and Ms. Sumita Das, faculties, School of Business and a large number of students were present in the seminar.
