To celebrate the ACBSP accredited status, School of Business of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) organized a program at the university campus in Bashundhara R/A, Dhaka on July 24, 2017. The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners has awarded the School of Business, IUB the accreditation of its business programs very recently.
At the outset of the program, Prof. Sarwar Uddin Ahmed, Dean, School of Business, IUB made a presentation on the journey towards obtaining ACBSP accreditation and also emphasized the benefits of getting this significant accreditation.
To mark the occasion, Mr. Rashed Chowdhury, Chairman, Board of Trustees, IUB; Mr. Abdul Hai Sarker, Chairman, Education, Science, Technology and Cultural Development Trust (ESTCDT), the Founding Trust of the University; Prof. M Omar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, IUB; Mr. Anis A. Khan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd and the Representative of the Business Advisory Board, IUB delivered their speeches.
In his speech, Mr. Abdul Hai Sarker thanked all faculty members and concerned students for making relentless efforts in order to obtaining ACBSP accreditation.
Mr. Rashed Chowdhury underscored sheer commitments of IUB Trustees towards making the university most preferred in Bangladesh. He stated that this accreditation of ACBSP will help IUB to pursuit quality higher education more vigorously.
On getting ACBSP accreditation, Mr. Anis A. Khan assured providing extended supports to IUB from the Business Advisory Board.
Professor M. Omar Rahman highlighted the needs of producing skilled manpower in the country. He expressed that getting this kind of accreditations largely help the universities in order to reducing the gap between skills and competent manpower that the industry requires.
Established in 1988, ACBSP is the only organization offering specialized business accreditation for all degree levels, from associate to baccalaureate to doctoral degree programs throughout the world. ACBSP accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes within the undergraduate and graduate business programs offered through the School of Business at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) meet the rigorous educational standards established by ACBSP.
Among others, Trustees of the university, members of the Business Advisory Board, Deans and Heads of the Schools and Departments, parents and guardians, members of the faculty and administration and a full-house students were present to celebrate this grand occasion.
Dr. Samiul Parvez Ahmed, Assistant Professor and Head of the Finance Department, School of Business, IUB delivered the formal vote of thanks.
