The School of Business at IUB organized a seminar on `Entrepreneurship, Innovations and Future Readiness of Bangladesh’ on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the university’s own campus in Bashundhara, Dhaka. Mr. Kazi M Aminul Islam, Executive Chairman, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) was the chief guest of the seminar. Mr. Islam highlighted various aspects of entrepreneurship in Bangladesh and inspired the youths to become entrepreneur instead of running after typical services.
Professor M Omar Rahman, vice chancellor, IUB delivered the welcome speech at the beginning of the seminar. Mr. Towhid Samad, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Chittagong Independent University and Trustee Mr. Syed Mahmudul Huq also put their valuable remarks on this occasion. Mr. Abdul Hai Sarker, Chairman, ESTCDT, the founding Trust of IUB and Mr. Rashed Chowdhury, former Chairman of the Board of Trustee, IUB were present in the seminar. The seminar was followed by a panel discussion participated by Dr. Faisal Ahmed, Chief Economist, Bangladesh Bank; Dr. Zia U. Ahmed, Chairman of Venture Investment Partners Bangladesh Limited; Mr. Tariqul Islam Chowdhury, CEO, Google Business Group and Mr. Shariful Islam, Founder and Director, Bangladesh Brand Forum. The discussants of the seminar emphasized on several issues of entrepreneurship including education curriculum, future economic target, challenges of entrepreneurship and sustainable development goals of Bangladesh.
Prof. Mohd. Aminul Karim, Dean, School of Business, IUB moderated the session and ended with vote of thanks. Ms. Nuzhat Sharmeen, Lecturer, School of Business, IUB conducted the program. Honorable Trustees of IUB, Deans and Heads of different Schools and Departments, senior faculty members, administration and a large number of students attended the seminar.
