The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI) in association with Maasranga Television organized a pre-budget session on May 11, 2018 at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB). The honorable Finance minister, Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, of Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh was the chief guest of the session. Along with him some prominent business persons and economists were also participated in the session. With the invitation of the MCCI to the Department of Finance, School of Business twelve undergraduate students from the Finance and Accounting departments along with, Head of the Finance Department, Dr. Samiul Parvez Ahmed, Prof. Sarwar Uddin Ahmed, Deputy Director, Ms. Samina Kabir, other two lecturers, Mr. Mohammad Fahad Noor and Ms. Susmita Mandal were participated in the session. There were insightful discussions regarding the upcoming Budget 2018-2019 and the students would immensely benefit from the session. Ms. Antara Hoque, a final year student of the Finance Department, raised the recent harassment issues of the public transport sector and humbly requested to the Finance Minister to address them in the upcoming budget which the panel took it seriously.
