The Department of General Management at IUB organized a workshop titled “Importance of Structured Problem Solving: Lean Six Sigma” on Sunday, March 03, 2019. The workshop was convened by Mr. Dumidu Ranaweera, President, SSMI Asia, who is a certified master black belt Six-sigma professional. Dr. Abul Bashar, Head, Dept. of General Management, IUB along with other faculties and students from the School of Business were also present in this event.
Throughout the session, Mr. Ranaweera discussed traditional problem-solving approach and plausible improvement. Later he focused the importance of lean practices in industrial problem solving. He also explored the job opportunity and career prospect of Lean Six-Sigma certifications.
The program ended with question and answer session from the faculty members, as well as students. As a concluding remark, Dr. Abul Bashar expressed his interest in conducting a dual certification program in association with SSMI. He acknowledged the valuable presence and honored the chief guest with vote of thanks and a crest as a token of appreciation.
