Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) School of Business, in association with Global Studies & Governance Program and The Rohingya Solidarity Network organized a panel discussion on
“The Rohingya Refugee Crisis: Meeting the Twin Challenges of Humanitarian Support and Repatriation”. Eminent personalities, diplomats, faculties and students attended the event held on 12 June 2019.

Opening remarks were made by Professor Dr. Mohd. Aminul Karim, Dean of School of Business (IUB). This was followed by an address by Prof. Milan Pagon, Vice-Chancellor (IUB). The event was moderated by Dr. Sadequl Islam, Professor & Chair, Department of Economics, Laurentian University, Canada. The panelists presented findings from their visits to Rohingya camps. This was followed by insights from Touhid Hossain, Former Foreign Secretary, Prof. Dr. Imtiaz A Hussain, Dean of School of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences (IUB) and Dr. Fouzul Kabir Khan, Former Energy Secretary.

The program highlighted the humanitarian and repatriation challenges in Bangladesh since the influx of Rohingya migrants. Continued efforts to increase awareness on the issue was stressed. A lively Questions & Answers session followed. After closing remarks, Photography Exhibition of Fojit Sheikh Babu, Photojournalist of the Daily Alokito Bangladesh was inaugurated.
