Independent International Business Forum (IIBF), the student club from the department of International Business, hosted an event titled “Meet the Corporates Bridging the gap” on October 3, 2019. The event served a platform where corporate veterans shared their expertise with the students of Independent University Bangladesh. This auspicious event was graced by the presence of the Dean of the School of Business, IUB, Prof. Dr. Mohd. Aminul Karim.

The speakers of the event were – Mr. Md. Shah Newaz, Operation Analysis/Administrator at Sears Holdings Global Sourcing Ltd; Mr. Sakib Al Reza, Assistant Manager, Analytics and Information System at Shell Bangladesh; and Mr. Tanmoy Das, Executive Officer, Customer Centricity at MetLife Bangladesh.

Mr. Newaz shared his experience and expertise on the overall retail industry with a particular focus on supply chain management. Mr. Reza gave his insights on big data analytics and articulated on the fourth industrial revolution. Mr. Das shared his valuable advice on career decisions to students focusing particularly on in the insurance industry in Bangladesh. In addition, all the guest speakers focused on team building, soft skill development, interpersonal communication, and taking different professional courses for better preparing for the job market after graduation. The Dean Professor Dr. Mohd. Aminul Karim gave a talk prioritizing the industry-academia collaboration and thanked the guests for sharing their experiences with the students. The event was hosted by the club coordinator Mr. SM Yusuf Mallick.
