Independent HR Society- (IHRS) has constantly been trying to help the members with various resourceful sessions on the skills which can contribute in better academic and corporate career of the students. The first session of Summer 2020 semester was held on 15th February 2020. The session was on “Effective Communication Skill”. Founder President of IHRS, Mr. Aminur Rashid conducted this session. Mr. Rashid has worked in multiple corporate platforms and achieved notable recognitions. He is currently working as the Lead, Business Development at Sheba.xyz.
In this session he spoke how communication varies in different forms according to the surrounding circumstances and the person to whom the message is being conveyed. Primary focus of the session was to let the members understand the difference between a general communication and effective communication. From his experience, he explained how to communicate in a confident and a well-organized way. He also told that the myth about communication being only a method of speaking, is not correct. He mentioned that communication is not only speaking but it is about conveying the message with confidence and transparency. Also, it is very important to relate with the audience which makes it easier to convince through communication.
The session was three hours long and it included different segments where different communication methods were explained and documentaries on notable personalities were shown. This helped the members to get in-depth knowledge on the topic. Members also participated in an interactive question answer segment where they talked abut their struggles and hesitations in proper communication. The event ended with a question-answer session.
