The Department of Economics had organized a one-day workshop on “EVIEWS”, held on 17th December 2020 and conducted by Mr. Md Kamrul Islam (Lecturer A, Dept. of Economics). The workshop had four informative and interactive sessions including installation process, uploading data, unit root test, and regression result analysis. Doing research and preparing thesis papers are mandatory for the students of the Economics department and the use of software like EVIEWS, Stata is a must. The Independent Economic Society (IES) had provided a great opportunity for the students to learn the use of software and to make their work easier. During the workshop, the participants could learn by practicing which led to a better understanding of the whole procedure. There was also a question-answer session where the participants shared their opinion in a broader perspective and resolved their problems through discussion. In the end, our honorable Head (acting) Dr. Shahriar Kabir joined the workshop and delivered his keynote speech for the participants. It was an introductory level workshop on “EVIEWS” and the Department of Economics is looking forward to organizing such more workshops on an advanced level.
