The event titled ‘Fintech: The Bangladesh Story’ was held at the Independent University Bangladesh (IUB) auditorium, organized by the Department of Finance, School of Business of IUB in coordination with team bKashwhere around 400+ participants, mostly finance major students were in attendance. The main objective of the event was to familiarize the students with the new emerging industry- “Fintech” which combines finance & technology. This is one of the brightest industries in the world with a huge future potential. Many players in this industry have showed remarkable success within a short span of time; bKash Limited is one of them showing progress in financial inclusion providing Mobile Financial Services (MFS) and also has unlimited scope to go further.
Dr. Sarwar Uddin Ahmed, Dean and Professor, School of Business, IUB, welcomed the bKash team in the session. He mentioned that academia and corporate should work together for mutual benefits.
Mr. Sayeed Nasir, GM Organizational Development talked about different programs that bkash is conducting and also about the employment opportunities in the company. Later Mr.Nofel Wahid, DGM, Products & CLM talked about the evolution of the fintech industry and its global success stories.
Finally, Mr. Adnan Mehdi, Head-Treasury, Finance & Accounts finally talked about bKash’s contribution to the society and how the company is striving for financial inclusion and about the various services the company offers which are convenient, affordable and reliable.
